Jesus Wants A Relationship With You
No matter who you are or what you’ve done, Jesus came to earth for you. He didn’t come to start another religion, to point out our faults, or to belittle us.
Jesus came to save us, and that’s good news!
Salvation Is the Start Of A Relationship
Salvation is about more than what happens when we die. It’s the way to experience a full life with God here and now.
In deciding to follow Jesus, we’re acknowledging that our way isn’t working anymore. That we’re done flying solo, and we’re giving Jesus control.
From that moment on, we’re never alone. Jesus is the friend who never leaves us or forsakes us. He gives us His Spirit to guide us and access to God, who loves and cares for us.
Do You Want To Be Saved?
God loves you and wants you to experience life in His love. The Bible also says He (Jesus) has come so that we may have life “more abundantly”. This was God’s plan in sending Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16
Consider these truths...
We are born to naturally disobey God and go our own way, this is called sin. Sin results in our separation from God, but He has given the gift of Jesus to reunite us to Him again.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
God sent His Son to bridge the gap. Christ did this by paying the penalty for our sins when He died on the cross and rose from the grave.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
You cross the bridge into God’s family when you turn from your sin and believe in faith that Christ will save you from the punishment for your sins.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. – John 1:12
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. – Romans 10:9-10
A prayer for salvation is talking to God in the most helpless of situations. As you understand that you are spiritually dead because of sin, and that God demonstrated His love in Christ, then because of His love and grace, you are able to call on Jesus. Your rescue came when He took your punishment for sin, died in your place, and rose from the dead.
Below is a prayer of confession and the starting point for knowing God personally, finding forgiveness for sin, and beginning a new life of victory over sin. The words of the prayer do not contain power, but it is faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus that changes us from the inside.
“Jesus, I admit I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from running my own life, and now I ask You to run it. I invite You to walk with me in my life. I trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, amen.”
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our sin, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved.” – Ephesians 2:4-5
