Baptism

Scriptural Baptism Follows Salvation

We believe in Baptism through immersion in water, just as Jesus was, as recounted in the Bible. Although baptism does not save you, it serves three very important functions.

Baptism Paints A Picture.

Baptism is a visible symbol of what happens in your heart when you place your faith in Jesus Christ. You die to your old way of living (sin) and Christ raises you to a new way of living.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. – Romans 6:4

Baptism Proclaims A Promise.

Baptism is your first act of obedience as a Christian as it proclaims the great biblical promise that Jesus gives NEW LIFE to sinners.

But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. – Acts 8:12

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also should walk in the newness of His resurrection…Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. – Romans 6:5, 8

Baptism Points To A Person.

Baptism shows your identification with other believers who have also followed Christ.

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. – Acts 2:41-42
